ZFK: Zombie Killer Force in Evansville

Calling all Zombies! The web series Zombie Killer Force will be in Evansville this Friday evening and Saturday.

    They are looking for:

Zombies of all ages, sizes, and colors. Also, special zombies—nurses, doctors, cops, sports players, etc.

Here is more info straight from Megan Leavitt (one of the filmmakers involved):

Friday 11/13/09…Meet between 5 and 6 PM at the Old Postoffice in Downtown Evansville—WATCH FACEBOOK FOR TIME UPDATES THROUGHOUT FRIDAY! Exact time will depend on what time we get in Friday, but we will meet no earlier than 5 and no later than 6. We will most likely shoot for 5 hours or so.

Saturday 11/14/19…Meet at Wesselman Nature Park in Evansville. We will meet between 8 and 9 am, TBD at Friday wrap, depending on how long we go. After that, we will travel downtown to shoot on the streets and in Someplace Else bar and Finn’s Cafe. If time allows, we may shoot more in the Old Post Office. This will be 8-10 hour day. If you can only come part of the time, that is fine. We will be leaving for downtown around 1, so you could come just in the morning or afternoon, however, we prefer all day.

What else you need to know:

1…Come in weather appropriate clothing that can get bloody, dirty, torn, etc…

2…If possible, come in basic makeup…pale face and darkened eyes and cheeks. If you have makeup skillllzzzzzz, let me know!

3…Please come already fed Friday night. We will have drinks and snacks.

4…Due to the volume of people expected, we cannot provide full meals for Zombies on Saturday. Please come fed in the morning and have a lunch plan. Again, we will have snacks and drinks. Thanks for your help in this matter!

5…We will be featuring a handful of Zombies at each location…this means more face time and more elaborate makeup. The featured ones will be decided on a day to day basis. Be creative with your costumes and makeup if you wish. There are lots of great resources online with basic zombie info!

6…We are trying to get a head count together, so if you know when you are going to be available, please let me or Donna Kinnaird know.

Thanks again guys! Remember, watch Facebook (they have a fan page)  for Updates and Spread the Infection!

    MOVIES: ON THE BIG SCREEN

NO REAL RALLY, IT’S RODRIGUEZ MOVIE SHOT IN AUSTIN

AUSTIN, Texas – A political rally being staged near the Texas Capitol had nothing to do with real Republicans or Democrats. A stretch of Congress Avenue was closed to traffic Thursday as part of filming for the Robert Rodriguez action movie “Machete,” featuring Robert De Niro.

One scene included a red, white and blue decorated stage with a banner saying “Vote for Senator McLaughlin.” De Niro, in a suit, red tie and cowboy hat, appeared to be giving a campaign speech. Rodriguez previously said the movie will also feature Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan and Cheech Marin. It is based on the “fake” trailer in the 2007 movie “Grindhouse.”

Several of Rodriguez’s productions including the “Spy Kids” movies were filmed in Texas. His Troublemaker Studios is located in Austin.

    “INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS” – CHRISTOPH WALTZ

LOS ANGELES – It took more than 30 years of making movies in Austria for Christoph Waltz to break into Hollywood — and he’s glad it didn’t happen sooner. There’s Oscar buzz around Waltz for his role as the Jew hunter in “Inglourious Basterds,” his first American movie. He says if he’d been successful when he first started out, it would have blown him apart. He would’ve been “so impressed by what’s going on” that he would have “fallen into every trap” that opened up in front of him.

    “PONYO” – NOAH CYRUS

LOS ANGELES – Miley Cyrus’ little sister Noah is like many 9-year-olds: she spends a lot of time on Twitter. Noah says she posts tweets about what she’s doing, where she’s going, and what she does when she returns. Noah speaks for the lead character “Ponyo,” a goldfish who wants to be human.

“WORLD’S GREATEST DAD” – BOBCAT GOLDTHWAIT

LOS ANGELES – The timing was perfect for Bobcat Goldthwait. He’d basically stopped acting. That allowed him to concentrate on writing and then, directing the dark comedy, “World’s Greatest Dad” which stars Robin Williams. But, Goldthwait jokes he “retired from acting conveniently at the same time people stopped hiring” him. And, he says he “has turned away from the things that would perpetuate” his still being in the public eye, like reality shows. “World’s Greatest Dad” expands to a few more cities tomorrow and goes wider Labor Day weekend.

    TV: ON THE SMALL SCREEN

    “SUPERNATURAL” – PARIS HILTON

Paris Hilton is recovering from the workout she got while filming “Supernatural.” She was in Vancouver on Tuesday for filming. While she was there she tweeted: “So much fun working on Supernatural. Jared and Jensen are so nice and such great actors. I had a great time.” But, by last night, she was feeling the effects. That’s when she tweeted she’s “so tired and sore from all the stunts and fighting scenes while shooting.” Hilton’s episode is expected to air Oct. 8.

“BIG BROTHER” – CANCELED IN BRITAIN

LONDON – Britain’s lost interest in “Big Brother.” So, the network there is giving it one more season and then, it’s canceled. “Big Brother” used to be one of England’s biggest watercooler shows.

LINNEY SET FOR OFFBEAT COMEDY PILOT ABOUT CANCER

LOS ANGELES – Laura Linney is taking on an offbeat role in a Showtime comedy pilot – a woman who is diagnosed with cancer. Showtime said Thursday that Linney will star in and executive produce the half-hour show, “The C Word,” with the pilot episode to be shot this fall.

The cable channel says the series will delve into the life of a suburban wife and mother as she confronts her illness and finds the light side in a dark situation. In a statement, the Emmy Award-winning Linney said she’s excited to tackle such “potentially rich, funny and complicated material.”

WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE’ TRANSFORMS INTO MOVIE

LOS ANGELES – The Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place” is offering its fans a bonanza, with a TV movie and a chance to meet the show’s stars at a convention in September. “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” debuting at 8 p.m. EDT Friday, sends the magical Russo siblings on an eventful Caribbean vacation with their parents.

On Sept. 13, cast members including Selena Gomez and Jake T. Austin will take part in the D23 Expo, a Disney fan convention in Anaheim, Calif. Executive producer Peter Murietta says the “Wizards of Waverly Place” event will include a screening of the show’s third-season premiere and a surprise musical performance.

    WEB: ON THE COMPUTER SCREEN

AP SOURCES: DIRECTV, TBS, TNT IN TALKS ON INTERNET

DirecTV Group Inc. is in talks with the TBS and TNT cable networks to offer their shows online. That’s according to two people familiar with the discussions. If a deal is reached, DirecTV subscribers would be able to watch shows from those cable networks on the Internet. DirecTV, the nation’s largest satellite TV operator, previously said it was considering such deals but did not specify the networks. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks still are ongoing.

DirecTV joins a growing list of cable, satellite and phone companies that are offering consumers a “multiscreen” experience: the ability to watch shows on TV, computers and mobile devices like
    cell phones.

“LAW AND ORDER” FAN HELPS CATCH ACCUSED CROOK

NEW YORK – A “Law and Order” fan helped cops catch an accused crook using techniques she learned watching the show. Justine Faeth is an office assistant in New York City. Her favorite show is “Law and Order SVU.” Police say a man walked into her office and stole a purse, an iPod and a wallet. Before leaving, he drank water and blew his nose. Faeth saved the cup and tissue. Investigators used DNA samples to track down and arrest the suspect. When Faeth appeared on the “Today” show, Mariska Hargitay called to congratulate her and hinted that Faeth may be allowed to be an extra in an episode.

BLAGOJEVICH AND WIFE TO CO-HOST ON “THE VIEW”

NEW YORK – Rod Blagojevich and his wife Patti will co-host “The View” on September 9th. They’re the latest to help take over for Elisabeth Hasselbeck while she’s on maternity leave.

    LAW & CELEBRITY

    LINDSAY LOHAN – HOUSE BREAK-IN

LOS ANGELES – Police in Los Angeles are looking for three people caught on tape taking stuff out of Lindsay Lohan’s house. Surveillance footage shows one man and two women walking through a gate at Lohan’s home and entering a courtyard. All three of them have scarves over their faces. Lohan’s spokeswoman says the break-in happened just after one in the morning on Sunday while Lindsay and Ali Lohan were away. She says many of Lohan’s “personal belongings were taken without remorse.” Lohan might have a suspect in mind. She posted on Twitter that “things that a certain old friend knew meant a lot” to her were taken.

    GOSSIP & EVERYTHING ELSE

CRYPT ABOVE MARILYN MONROE’S – NO SALE

LOS ANGELES – The person who made the winning $4.6 million bid for the crypt above Marilyn Monroe may have come to his or her senses. That person has decided not to buy the crypt. The crypt above Monroe’s currently holds the remains of the husband of a woman named Elsie Poncher. She was going to move her hubby and sell the crypt. Now, her lawyer says that’s on hold until the results of the eBay auction can be cleared up. Marilyn Monroe’s crypt is at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery behind some high rises in a busy section of L.A.

Mad Talent: Batman Metaphors sneak peek

Posting on the blog has been tough recently because of all the side film projects I’ve been working on.

One of those projects being Batman – Metaphors, a fan film that I’m co-producing and doing the fight choreography for.

Below is a very rough cut preview showing you one of the scenes from the film, plus a little behind-the-scenes bonus feature.

BATMAN | Metaphors Fight Choreography from Digital Spectrum Films on Vimeo.

Entertainment News Dailies: August 25, 2009

    MOVIES: ON THE BIG SCREEN

    “INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS” – ELI ROTH

LOS ANGELES – Eli Roth beats Nazis to death with a baseball bat in “Inglourious Basterds,” but he doesn’t think that’s any more violent than anything else Hollywood has produced. Roth says the old cowboy and Indians movies were pretty violent and audiences even cheered when bad guys were shot in John Wayne movies. This was Roth’s first really big movie role. He’s best known for writing and directing “Cabin Fever” and the first two “Hostel” movies.

    “SHORTS” – JIMMY BENNETT

LOS ANGELES – Jimmy Bennett knows what he’d ask for if he had a wishing rock like the one his character has in “Shorts.” Bennett says he’d wish for a Gibson-Les Paul Black Beauty guitar. He says it’s his “dream guitar” and is “really expensive.” The director of “Shorts,” Robert Rodriguez has a huge guitar collection that he let Bennett look at. Bennett says it was “the best thing” he’d ever seen in his life.

    ESPN-3-D

BRISTOL, Conn. – ESPN is going 3-D. The sports cable network says it will test 3-D technology with special screenings of the game between No. 4 USC and No. 6 Ohio State at three theaters on Sept. 12. Tickets will be given away to fans listening to ESPN radio affiliates in Los Angeles, Dallas and Columbus, Ohio, later this week. Those three cities are the locations of the 3-D screenings. The game, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time, will also be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN HD, but not in 3-D.

    TV: ON THE SMALL SCREEN

‘AMERICA’S GOT TALENT’ LEADS PRIME-TIME RATINGS

NEW YORK – Nielsen says NBC still has a hot show with “America’s Got Talent,” which placed first and second in the latest prime-time ratings. Also in the reality realm, “Big Brother” on CBS did well, with its Tuesday installment landing in sixth place.

The Sunday edition of ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” ranked ninth. And on Fox, “Hell’s Kitchen” finished 10th. But episodic reruns also claimed the nation’s eyeballs – and many of those most-watched sitcoms and dramas were on CBS. Overall for the week, CBS was on top, averaging 5.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

A&E CONFIRMS JACKSONS SPECIAL WILL BECOME A SERIES

NEW YORK – A&E says its previously announced documentary about members of the Jackson family will be expanded into a reality series. A&E’s official word came only after “Entertainment Tonight” declared the Jackson series was a go. But beyond acknowledging plans for a series, A&E furnished no details. No premiere date or number of episodes has been specified.

The original special focused on brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon Jackson as they prepared for a concert tour. A&E spokesman Dan Silberman says initial filming wrapped before Michael Jackson’s death, but he didn’t participate in the show.

‘ONE TREE HILL’ ACTOR STILL ON TV AFTER NYC PLEA

NEW YORK – An actor who pleaded guilty in New York City to a Social Security number scheme will appear in at least the first several new episodes of the teen television drama “One Tree Hill.” CW network spokesman Paul McGuire says it’s unclear what will happen later in the show’s seventh season following Antwon Tanner’s guilty plea.

“One Tree Hill” co-stars Tanner as high school basketball star-turned-coach Skills. It’s in production in Wilmington, N.C. It returns Sept. 14. The 34-year-old Tanner also appeared with Samuel L. Jackson in the 2005 movie “Coach Carter.” He admitted in a Brooklyn federal court Friday he sold more than a dozen Social Security numbers for $10,000. He’s expected to get as much as a year in prison at his Nov. 20 sentencing. His lawyer hasn’t returned telephone and e-mail messages sent Tuesday seeking comment.

    AND THE AWARD GOES TO…

    ALMA AWARDS

LOS ANGELES – The Stars of “Ugly Betty” and “Wizards of Waverly Place” will be honored at the ALMA Awards next month. The ALMAS celebrate Latino entertainers. Other honorees include Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek and Rosario Dawson. Selena Gomez, David Archuleta and Nelly Furtado will perform. Benjamin Bratt and Michelle Rodriguez are among the presenters. The ALMA Awards will be held September 17th in Los Angeles.

    LAW & CELEBRITY

BROWN ORDERED TO KEEP AWAY FROM RIHANNA AT SENTENCING

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles judge has told Chris Brown he may face prison time if he comes within 100 yards of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The singer was sentenced to five years probation today and six months’ community labor for beating Rihanna in February. Brown will serve his sentence in his home state of Virginia.

The terms include an order to stay away from Rihanna unless they’re attending music industry events. Court documents describe two previous violent incidents between the pop couple. In one, Rihanna is said to have slapped Brown during an argument while traveling in Europe. The report says he shoved her into a wall. In a second instance, Brown allegedly broke a car window while the two were driving. In a probation report, Brown is quoted as saying he has been “depressed” since the attack and that he “does not want to carry in that cycle.”

WOMAN FROM “THRILLER” WANTS MONEY FROM JACKSON ESTATE

LOS ANGELES – The latest person trying to get money from Michael Jackson’s estate is the woman from “Thriller.” Ola Ray’s attorney filed papers saying she’s owed royalties from the Thriller video for the past four years. Ray had sued Jackson over the royalties last April.

C-MURDER GETS ANOTHER 10 YEARS ON TOP OF LIFE

BATON ROUGE, La. – It’s not enough that he’s already been sentenced to life in prison, but C-Murder has now gotten another 10 years tacked onto his sentence. He got the extra time for firing into a nightclub after an argument. C-Murder had pleaded no contest to the charge that he tried to shoot the nightclub owner and bouncer after he refused to be searched. He got the life sentence for shooting a 16-year-old to death.

    GOSSIP & EVERYTHING ELSE

    ANNA PAQUIN DENIES SHE’S PREGNANT

LOS ANGELES – Anna Paquin is denying she’s pregnant. She wrote a tight black dress to an event in West Hollywood, where she asked “Extra” if she looked pregnant. She says her “uterus is really flattered that everyone cares, but sorry, no occupants.” Paquin refused to talk about her recent engagement to her “True Blood” lover Stephen Moyer.

WHO GETS TO SPEND ETERNITY ON TOP OF MARILYN MONROE’S GRAVE?

LOS ANGELES – Someone paid $4 million, 600-thousand for the right to spend eternity on top of Marilyn Monroe. The high bidder paid for the crypt directly about Monroe’s. The listing says the body that’s in the crypt now is “looking face down on” Monroe. That body is being moved.
